"Get Out, Stay Out"

After escaping from your home during a fire, what should you do?

Get Out and Stay Out of the home. Do not go back inside for others or personal belongings.

Call 9-1-1 once you are safely outside of the home.

Meet at your family's meeting place, decided upon previously to account for all in the home. Be sure the meeting place is in front of the home where the fire department can see you.

Inform the fire department of anyone missing. They have the appropriate gear and equipment to rescue them.

Continue to practice your home fire escape plan at least twice a year. Make sure everyone knows the correct meeting place and is prepared to get out and stay out if a fire occurs!
