HP Recalls Notebook Computers and Mobile Workstations Due to Fire Hazards
The CPSC has has issued a recall of HP notebook computers and mobile workstations due to fire and burn hazards. The lithium-ion batteries installed in the device can overheat, which immediately poses a fire and burn hazard to its users.
Notebook computers or mobile workstations that were purchased between December 2015 through April 2018 may have recalled batteries. Consumers who have one of these devices should visit www.HP.com/go/batteryprogram2018 to see if their device is affected by this recall. This website will also provide proper instructions for battery replacement. HP has offered a free replacement by an authorized technician.
